The Practice Professional Model of interpreting
The Practice Professional Model of interpreting
A
day spent introducing and discussing the Practice
Professional Model of interpreting as promoted by
Robyn Dean and Robert Pollard.
This model is greatly
influencing the way in which the Profession is talking
about what we do. The (meta) language we use to
describe our work is maturing and based on a sound,
proven framework within which to reflect.
The model promotes a
non-judgemental approach to assignment analysis,
embraces our humanity and empowers us to provide the
best service we can.
It recognises our freedom
and latitude, but also highlights our
responsibilities.
